The Republican vice presidential candidate disagrees with the findings and says there is 'nothing unlawful or unethical about replacing a cabinet member.'

Did we really expect the GOP spinmeisters to do anything but attack the messenger here? Perhaps they forgot that this bipartisan investigation was originally started by Alaska Democrats and Republicans before Palin was named as McCain's running mate. Since Palin's numbers were already dropping in the polls, this probably won't have a lot of impact. However, the bad thing for McCain/Palin is that it might swing some remaining undecideds away from their ticket.

Yo N4Real and Roy Wilson. There happened to be more republicans than Democrats on this committee and yet you still cry unfair.  There is NO doubt that if the very same committee cleared Dog with lipstick you and your corrupt party would have stated how fair and just the decision.

Your repugnants are so obvious in the panic that you come up with such non-sense. I would have more respect for the repug voters and candidates if you would just be honest and state that your racists, ignorant, and will lie cheat, manipulate the dumb followers. Your candidates are cyrstal clear in their,,"no issue-hate only stretegy. Your loser candidates remind me of Brown Shirts Germany 1939. Troopergate is just the tip of the Alaskan Iceberg. The AIP and Todd Palin's seven year membership is next.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eniG9l_7its

***Guilt-by-association means McCain & the rest of the Republican Party pal around with this brand of Anti-Americanism and will continue to destroy America.

Vote Against McCain-Palin; they are anti-American and wolves in sheep’s clothing.

MORE insight…

Here is video of Dexter Clark, Vice Chairman of the AIP Northern Region during an Oct 3-4 Secessionist Convention in Chattanooga, TN stating twice that Sarah Palin was a member of the AIP (6:15-6:45 on the clock on PART 1)   CLARK: "... There was alot of talk about her moving up. She was an AIP member before she got the job as the Mayor, that was a non-partisan job, but to get along, to go along, she eventually joined the republican party...she also had about an 80% approval rating and is pretty much sympathetic because of her former membership..."

PART 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_NK2sFJebGc&feature=user
PART 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqa896wYatk&NR=1

Of course the McCain Campaign has since stepped in and recently, the AIP Chairman Lynette Clark (Dexter’s wife seen seated next to Dexter in the video) issued a public statement on Sept 03, 2008 ( http://www.akip.org/090308.html ) announcing that Sarah Palin had never been an AIP member. Meanwhile I believe I read somewhere that the McCain Campaign has produced records that Sarah had been a registered republican for quite sometime. The reasoning provided by Lynette for the discrepancy on her membership was that Dexter had been "misinformed."  Regardless of actual membership Sarah Palin's association is inextricable because of Todd's membership during their marriage. These videos are incredibly insightful. Aside from a very purposeful ideology, the methodology by the AIP is to infiltrate politics through the cloak of the republican party in order to obtain power. Todd was an AIP member from 1995-2002 while married to Sarah. Sarah was non partisan Mayor until 2002. The connection between Todd relinquishing his membership in order for Sarah’s ascension into the political theater is pretty clear. Being a member of the AIP is not a benign act, one favors very specific goals and clearly unpatriotic succession is one of them. Do some research on its founder Joe Vogel. This is what happens when a VP is not properly vetted. The GOP cover-up of truth is upon us.

There are tidbits of interesting anecdotal evidence and furthermore these videos offer a unique and important perspective inside the AIP. Oil and money seem to be a big part of the movement for Alaskan independents as well. These folks sure got that "mavericky" kind of personality all-the-while espousing little or no government infiltrating their lives.

I don’t think McCain had this kind of unpatriotic “maverick” in mind.

Of course Palin would deny her abuse of power what politican wouldn't?  I am sure she is guilty of using her poweer to try and get her ex-brotherlaw fired.  Most politicians would try and get someone with this type of relationship fired.
I don't believe that Obama or McCain would do this because they are both basically pretty honest.  Yes they destort the facts but many of the facts they are given come from aides that might be over zealous.
McCain's problem with this situation is that he picked her and this shows a lapse in judgement.  I also believe McCain was pushed into these terrible attacks on Obama.  All said and done I believe Obama has better decision making skills that would enable him to run the country with less drama than McCain.  I believe both of these men are really good people and I am tired of seeing people tear both of them down.  I am also getting sick of them cutting his other down.  Maybe this will stop now and we can get down to the real issues.

It would be nice to see each other disagree on these forums without the personal attacks.

The chairman of this legislative committee with no power is on the Obamanation web site as an Obamanation supporter and was paid $100,000 for his effort.  You liberal Demogogue's are a pathetic bunch and along with the bias media you attempt to make this a big deal. Gov. Palin wasn't convicted of any criminal act and if this committees opinion were upheld the maximaum fine would be $5,000. What a big deal.  N O  T
If your "boy" Obamaination is convicted on voter fraud because of his ACORN connections and his association with his Chicago terrorist William Ayers he may even do jail time.  Now that will be a BIG DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm still undecided on the Presidential election (leaning toward the conservative side) but this sure does look like a partisan witch hunt. Neither side is really representing middle America and they both look like they have a little dirty laundry they have shoved under the bed. I tend to believe the Palin's story on this matter as I have some past experience in my own community with less than stellar law enforcement personnel that believe a badge and a gun allows them to abuse their position. Look it up, this guy had allegations against him in the past before he was ever involved with the Palin's.

Hard to say. The MSM is avoiding discussion. All they do is cite the report and the denials by the McCain campaign. And the McCAin campaign has zeroed in on the finding that Palin has every right to fire anyone for anything with or without cause. They even go so far as to misrepresent the firing as the abuse of power. the abuse of power noted in finding one concerned Palin's fixation with getting her ex-brother-in-law fired...had nothing to do with the firing the investigation set out to inquire. As long as McCain and Palin can keep the issue confused, it won't be an October Surprise. If the MSM gets off their dead buttes and start diggin into it, then it will become one.

I truly don't understand !   How can it be "abuse of power" ?

Isn't she the governor of the state?

You mean to tell me.... if she has evidence of her ex-brother-in-law breaking the law by tasering his stepson, shooting a moose from his patrol car with his service revolver ( out of season), driving the patrol car a number of times drunk, threatening family members with bodily harm...

You mean she didn't have the power to tell the chief of police that he should be fired ?  Do that in California and see what Governor Arnold would do !

No, really? Palin denies abuse of power? Geez, we didn't expect that. No Roy Wilson, et al, it isn't partisan politics. This investigation started before you or anyone knew who Palin was, and it began with a committee of 10 Republicans and 4 Democrats.

I'm not taking sides in "Troopergate" either, because I dislike all involved equally--small town garbage (I grew up in a small town so I know). Even the abuse of power isn't as much a concern to me as the mentality of the Palins and their attempt to place themselves above the rule of law by ignoring subpoenas, etc. -- Just more of the same we've seen during the Bush/Cheney administration, and "old politics" that prove Palin is not a reformer in any way imaginable. Or for that matter, McCain who also abused power in his attempt to cover up Cindy's drug activities.

The hypocritical spin we constantly see from conservatives never ceases to amaze me. A major reason Republicans do NOT deserve four more years is the constant scandals we've witnessed during the Bush/Cheney administration from Jack Abramoff and Tom DeLay and K-Street, to Scooter Libby's perjury and Cheney's obstruction of justice, to Palin's associate Ted Stevens.

No Party or candidate is pure as the driven snow, but in comparison there have been much less scandal from Democrats and Obama's background, including Ayers and Wright, is still better than McCain's cooperation as a POW, cheating on his wife (Carol), and various associations such as Charles Keating and individuals like Ayers (excuse me but what do you call people who bomb abortion clinics and shoot doctors), and Palin's church makes Rev. Wright look mainstream.

So the GOP can sling mud all it wants, but it will just splatter back two-fold. And in the end the voters will decide if they want more of the same (possibly worse), or if they can overcome the usual Republican fear mongering and take the only chance there is for real change and vote for Obama.

I can see some reponses are from those whom are not enlightened by the Legislature report.

FACT: In finding 1, there was ample evidence both Todd and Sara Palin used the governor's office as a political vehicle, using public resources and state personnel as proxies to wage an aggressive camapign to get her ex-brother-in-law not only fired as an Alaskan State Trooper, but with local police forces as well. The state statute on Ethics clearly states no one working as a government employee, including the governor, can use their position to further personal interest or investments. Palin's actions as well as her inactions not to stop her husband from pandering state officials fall into this category of abuse of power.

What she did was illegal by state ethical statues. She's guilty of a misdemeanor: a criminal offense defined as less serious than a felony. She broke the law!

Unfortunately, she did the crime but won't do the time because the state AG is a childhood friend and wouldn't even think of charging her. The Legislature is chartered to being charges except for impeachment and they don't meet until January 2009.

When are the pathetic morons who support Palin going to stop with the "it was a partisan witch hunt" garbage? Do I have to spell it out for you? There were more Republicans than Democrats on the legislative panel! What's more, the investigation was started before Palin became the Republican VP choice! How does that make it "partisan"?
I guess the Republicans are getting nervous, if not downright paranoid. They make up all this "terrorist" and "socialist" nonsense -- which even John McCain has told them is wrong -- and now the dreaded "liberal media" (translation: everything except Fox News) is picking on poor innocent Sarah. Boo hoo. I'm just glad that in just over three weeks it'll all be over, Barack Obama will be the President-elect, John McCain will return to the Senate, and poor Sarah will return to obscurity in Alaska so she can pal around some more with her AIP buddies...and the paranoid neo-cons will become even more paranoid...

What a crock of Moosesh-t.  Palins abuse of power consisted of NOT keeping her husband from complaining about a whacked out state policeman.  Talk about a poor attempt to scrape together something to pin on her.  This had nothing to do with Moneghan.

Can a citizen pressure state officials?  Of course.  If I feel strongly about something, whether its a personnel issue, safety issue, zoning issue, environmental issue etc.,and I want the state to do something about it, as a citizen I will pressure them.  As many, as often and as hard as I can.  They work for me!  As a citizen it is my right.

Did Todd Palin give up his rights when his wife became governor?

Wooten should be fired.  He has poor judgement and poor control of himself.  The governor has every right to work within the system to get him fired.  A citizen has every right to complain, and pursue a remedy from the state officials.  If the Palins were trying to protect job of their relative, the Whacked Out Wooten, you libs would be absolutely freaking out!

Come on now, everybody that has been following this story KNOWS that this investigatative team consisted of almost twice as many Republicans, the judges that said this investigation should continue were Republicans, the Supreme Court judges were Republican what 4 or 5 Republicans to 1 Democrate!

Palin MISUSED HER POWER, none of these Republicans were willing to lie and go down for her, they had edvidence that she was wrong so they did what they had to do.

They realized this is bigger than a party's win, I suggest everybody else do the same!

Ruling said she MISUSED HER POWER

She acted within the law because in was in her power to hire and fire as Govenor because she had this POWER as Governor, but she did not have the right to USE THE GOVENOR'S POWER FOR PERSONAL REASONS!

SHE USED HER POWER AS GOVENOR TO FIRE FOR PERSONAL REASON, THUS SHE MISUSED HER POWER!

Sorry, The actual question here was Did she abuse her power as Gov. NOT did the trooper do the things he was accused of. POSSIBLY, he did. There is a process to determine the validity of accusations against law officers. Sarah Palin cannot sit in judgement of this officer, she cannot unilaterally decide his punishment, or fire anyone in her way. This is abuse of power. That is why 7 republicans and 5 democrates..... not a partisan group of headhunters...... FOUND HER GUILTY of abuse of power. Not a big deal? Gordon.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Fox, STAY AWAY! They are frying you brain cells to the point you can't reason pass what they are feeding you! You know what I think FOX needs to be sued for misuse of their power!!!

Obama just like you paid these people! He paid them to do voters registerations for him during the primaries only! Now IF there is anybody that should be sought out in this more than anybody else is the Election Board, if they knew that these people were not what they were supposed to be THEY should have put an end to them long before, but according to the Board there are no evidence of any corruptions on the part of Acorn. Now that there has been complaints they will investigate. The judge just ruled last night that the Board must allow each county to look into this. NO ONE BUT REPUBLICANS ARE SAYING THAT ANYTHING ILLEGAL HAS TAKEN PLACE!

Now let's say that they can prove that deliberate fraud did take place within Acorn. What does that have to do with Obama hiring them? It's not as if he played a role in ANY wrong doing, plus he has hired others as well for the same services!

Now what FOX WON'T tell you is that McCain has in his database people that should not be there, they will not tell you that McCain has ALREADY HAD TO REINBURSE 1.5 MILLION to people out of the United States! The number of names that were in Obama's database was nothing compared to what McCain had in his!

The investigator gave a report to a heavily partisan republican body democrats outnumbered 2-1 and they not the investigator came up with the conclusion that the governor plain and simple abused her power. There are several testimonies included in the pdf where either her or her husband were calling the trooper who was investigating the allegations when Wooten was being checked by Monegans office and in fact a call from her husband to someone trying to get them not to hire him for a police position if he was fired by the troopers. Page 12 of the pdf.

The judge in the divorce case told them to stop trying to get the trooper fired. Now why would he do that unless he knew they were doing it. He told them to stop because the man still had to support his kids.

This is just spin facts are facts and her in denial.

Another thing is when this all broke she could have said I fired Manegan because of other reasons and it proved it and it would have died. She said she would cooperate she did not.  This report is incomplete because the Republican team stonewalled testifying.

How feeble the trolls are spinning this but they like the McCain staff are as inept a bunch of politicos as I have ever seen.

Well, well, well..... Aren't you something..... Sarah Palin "denies" abuse of power.   Now who didn't see that one coming?.  Well, I guess that settles it then, we'll just take her word for it.... puleeze......give me a break!!

I try to be a fair person, but for "this one", I'm not even willing to even give her the benefit of the doubt, given her behavior.   Sarah Palin doesn't seem to "understand" that in this country, one who "commits" a crime has the automatic "right" to deny any accusations - guilty of not.  But what you and your minions doesn't seem to "grasp" is that the party being accused cannot "orchestrate" an investigation of wrongdoings, and then "find" yourself innocent of wrongdoings!!!

Sarah Palin, I don't know you.  And from what I've seen of the way you've "carried" yourself throughout this campaign, I don't want to know you.  Your "actions" have proven that you most definitely have the capability of errant and despicable behavior.

Sarah Palin, has given Christianity a bad name.  She struts around "pretending" to be a Christian, and yet very consciously stood in her "rallies" and incited violence and hatred on someone she has never met, or has ever done anything to her to warrant this.  The proverbial "wolf in sheep's clothing", her only motive was quite selfish..... she wanted, at ALL COSTS to be VPOTUS even though SHE IS NEITHER FIT NOR QUALIFIED.  Yep.... a real Christian indeed!!

Sarah Palin's actions during this campaign have "single-handedly set women back 50 years - not only in America, but on this planet.  Her actions are quite evident of someone who is grossly unprofessional and non-diplomatic, who has no intellectual interest of her own surroundings or the world.  Surely, surely there must have been someone more "fitting" who could have been chosen by John McCain.  This is a cold slap in the face of all the women who have fought for her to have the "right" to even be "considered" for the position of VPOTUS.

Sarah Palin is blatantly ignorant and a despicable excuse of a human being to pander her lies and hate of Barrack Obama, who as a NEWCOMER TO THE NATIONAL POLITICAL SCENE, HAD NOT "EARNED" THE RIGHT TO ATTACK OBAMA.

Sarah Palin is not only unfit, but is grossly qualified for the position of VPOTUS.  And neither is John McCain fit for POTUS, because he chose her for political gain, and most definitely has a "proven" track record of showing gross bad judgement.  John McCain even had a lapse of memory in his twilight years, and allowed himself to believe that he was back in the 1960's.  How very, very sad and pathetic.

Sarah Palin is both intellectutally and muturely out of her league in this campaign - or anywhere.   And this time, "pig in lipstick who looks like a hockey mom and acts like a barracuda", paying $30,000 (or any amount of money) to a PR firm to "boost your own hype" will never be able to change that.

Sarah Palin is a cancer on the Republican Party, who if she really and seriously "loved" her country would do the right thing, and just get the hell out of the lower 48.

I'm way tired of Sarah Palin's elementary behavior, and hearing her screeching voice of nonsense and hatred.  I hope that you are "encouraged" to go back to Alaska, (the land where you learned your foreign policy experience) where they may STILL embrace you, and think that there is some value left inside of you.  You've done enough damage here.

That's MY opinion.

Mark.....

With all due respect, how do you know that Wooten was making threats. It's all hearsay. We know only what Palin has alleged. I hardly consider that to be truthful, when she refused to co-operate with the panels investigating her.

If I'd been innocent, I'd have gone running to answer all questions. I would have cleared my name and said to the world, "You see, I told all the voters I was telling the truth". End of story. McCain would have no problem at all.

She chose to ignore the investigators and put on spin after the report was released. Please wake up to what she refused to do. And why? If OJ was guilty, Palin is guilty.

She obviously didn't read the entire thing herself, but that's not surprising since she doesn't read.

"I have no problem with someone abusing their power to remove a criminal from power"

Moneghan is a criminal? What exactly did Chief Moneghan do to become a criminal? She removed Moneghan from power, not her brother-in-law. If by chance you are referring to the brother-in-law, isn't it amazing that none of the accusations they accused him of didn't surface until the sister and he separated, and she filed for divorce. It was a nasty divorce, and divorcing couples make up all sorts of wild accusations during divorce proceedings when the divorce is nasty.

    Don,

Thank you, indeed! I don't mind to be corrected at all! The reason of my passion is obvious, however. I am sure; you saw quite some example of descent people being ignored, like Joe Biden for instance, during his primary campaign; or their mistakes, and we all are quite capable of making them, being hyperbolized by so-called “public opinion”, etc.

So, in our case, making comparison, I intended not to harm my opponents feelings, but, to challenge them to open their eyes and see, what we are doing! I mean, we can support anybody, but let us be people, at least! Don’t you think

I have been accused of not being a "true" Alaskan because I unlike some people have a conscience and can admit Palin is not ready to be Governor yet alone VP. She is corrupt as they come. What you hear is true, she does appoint friends and people who aren't qualified and demands absolute loyalty at all costs. And when you don't do her bidding you get thrown under the bus. Look at Bailey who got a paid vacation when his recorded call surfaced and is now back at work. I bet Bailey knows a lot of dirt about Palin. All you have to do is watch all video of her to see her lies. I'm tired of her and her supporters trying to ruin good people in her quest.  Watch Kopps resignation on youtube, I found this very telling of her lack of character. She also lacks honor and integrity. Check out her involvement in the Mat Maid scandal. Read the documents about troopergate and try to dispute the fact that many complaints were unfounded. Explain why all these complaints weren't made at the time of the incidents only much later when Palin thought she could use them as ammo to get her exbrother in law fired. I have seen enough from Palin and don't understand how anyone can support or condone her actions and lies. And Todd is as dumb as his wife when he wanted the trooper charged with the illegal moose kill and only the trooper charged even though it was on Palins sisters tag, Palins sister was there when the moose was killed, it went to Palins dads to be dressed and the Palins benefited by having said moose on their dinner table. Unreal! And she still has another ethics complaint against her. As far as no one proceeding on any punishment for Palin, I think the personnel board knows that they are at will employees. I wish any of them had the guts to do their job. I may not be a "true" Alaskan to some people but I am a "true" American.

Wow, all this talk over literally nothing, the only thing the report suggests, not in proof, not in fact, that is why they call it an opinion, that she allowed access to the Governor's office to her husband, so what. He pressed subordinates to fire what seems to be an unruly trooper, so what. Where is the news here? There isn't any , seriously. It's not like she is cuddly with a know unrepentant terrorist, or Louis Farrakhan is talking her up, or she has taken millions of dollars from the 2 firms that gave birth to our current financial crisis, or she doesn't have squat for experience like the democratic candidate...................ooo, I'm definitely wrong on that point, they both have squat for experience. Move along people, nothing to see here or you can choose to keep following your very, very silent candidate and believe he is the golden boy, you would probably be safer following the golden boy.

After all this time even msnbc in this article cites that the perosonel boards was indeed the proper venue for the abuse of power charge that was what Gov. Palin said in the first place. The reason she stated in the begining was that the personel board, not the congress was the proper place for this investigation. This was her stated reason for not cooperating in this investigation. If you have actually read the enitre 263 page findings, the investigator was hired to look into the abuse of power charge by the committee which was the wrong place and they knew it.
Under Alaska law, it is up to the state's Personnel Board, not the Legislature, to decide whether Palin violated the ethics laws. If so, it must refer the matter to the Senate president for disciplinary action. Violations also carry a possible fine of up to $5,000.
So this should now be a dead issue except for the O'Zombies out there that truth doesn't matter to. I am sure you will all continue this assualt for no reason other than fear and anger that she was smarter on the points of law than everyone else involved in this waste of time and money. Just like she was more up to speed than Biden on the Duties of the Vice President according to the constitution during the debate. She was entirely in her rights as Governor to replace the man this entire investigation was about, Mr Monegan. He serves at her appointment and was dismissed by her legally.

Yeah, I know, Americans believe in cinematography corruption only... A few years ago in Chicago I was told a "tale" about rumors that every drug dealer always wears some amount of cash to "bail out" his “micro economy” in case of a sudden encounter with the authorities. So, again, was it all the truth about famous Alaska corruption that was told us? And the corrupted Chicago environment, of course, gave us an Obama phenomenon. Hey, MSNBC!

After reading through the entire deposition...ugh...this entire Wooten matter sounds like a serious witchhunt on behalf of Palin and her hubby. How nice it is to have a sister come to the aid, but not under those conditions.

Sarah...what the hell were you thinkikng? Or were you thinking???

First, Mr. Palin should get out of the Governors office and begin acting the part of a 1st man, so to speak.  Try saving taxpayer dollars by letting the private investigator go and start minding non-profit organizations that could use support!

Second, I sincerely hope Wooten authors a book. That will be a best seller, to read about all the shenanigans of her and her party in trying to pin or bash Wooten.

Third, I laughed like hell and was disgusted...all at the same time...reading that little miss sister, ex-wife of Wooten, won't go to work because her children need her more???

OMG...being a single mom of 2 boys and getting the bare minimum of child support did not leave me with the choice of working part-time.

Get out there and go to work for a living and move on, for the sake of the children. My children being grown now, see the strength and hard working model I set for them and they have more respect for the mother role!  It will not hurt her or her children one bit!

Sarah and Tommy...going out of your way to bring another human being unnecessary demise is hardly a Christian move on your part.

Contradictions, falsifying incidents, speaking untruths, charging mis-conduct, and playing the ole mighty matriarch in full power costume is and was not appealing, especially for a person in your position. Poor judgment on your part!

If there is any due revenge to be had on behalf of an ex-brother in law, let the Lord be the judge, jury, and punishment director; if there is any revenge deserved!!!

The bible clearly states, "...revenge is mine, sayeth the Lord."

Doubtful, since this whole mess sounds much like a family feud gone bad.

It appears that none of you Lower 48 citizens find this report too important.  However, living in AK and seeing the way that this Governor has allowed her spouse to become obsessed with the termination of this Trooper, at all costs, concerns me greatly.  What if I or someone I know becomes a name on her hit list?  I've been campaigning for Obama from the start.  Will she find out that for the first time in my life, ever, I have donated funds to the Obama campaign and somehow try to retaliate against me or my family?  Sure, it sounds too far fetched to you, but read the report.  These people, Todd and Sarah, just can't let anything go.......they ABUSE THE POWER which has been given to them.

No surprise here!  Palin renged on her promised cooperation because she knew she would be found out.  The investigation was started by a group of Alaskan politicos, most of whom are Republican, long before she was tapped as McCain's running mate.  How convenient to now claim otherwise, but then Republicans have become quite accomplished at distorting the facts.

TVINE 1st of all the investigation into SArah 6-Pack started before she was named nomiee so the democrats had no reason to be looking at politics in Alaska at that time

if your boy McCain had waited for his team to vet her he may have learned this information but he, as usual, all erratic like, just named her so never found out ab out the investigation, the pregnant high school daughter, that Wasilla is the meth production capital of the world etc.

Second it was not a partisan investigation it was primarily republican

Third, are you ok with someone whose husband runs parts of their adminsitration

Fourth, it is not about the trooper's inappropriate actiojns -- that is a separate hearing -- it is about Palin's inappropriate actions. Since the trooper is not running for VP we will not hear about his proceedings

Fifth what do you think about Todd & 6-Pack Sarah's involvement with the radical anti-American group the AIP?

Sixth, are you a Joe 6-Pack, and if not did you not find that offensive, and were you ok with the winking and smirking? and the I can see russia thing?

Sorry I am just appalled that an undecided could at this point be leaning towars these two -- make that 3 since Todd is part of the package -- oh 4 -- cindy mccain the drug addict is in there too i guess -- this ticket is a danger to America

          Jesus Tapdancing Christ...

I knew there would be some backlash amongst Conservative Republican voters, but seriously... If her own party is against her, shouldn't that say something?

Alaska is a Republican state. I have lived there my entire life. I know. But if her contemporaries are saying that she's at fault, then what the hell?!

Many outlets have researched the Weather Underground connection with Obama, more specifically Ayers and Obama, but does that mean that because of his past (which he was never convicted of legally), the university that emlpoys Ayers should be condemned, as well? That's horse @!$%#... Obama's connections with Ayers are tenuous at best.

Obama lives in the same neighborhood that Ayers lives in. Does that mean that whoever has lived in and gotten on with someone of past ill respute means that the person themselves belives in what that person stood for? @!$%#, we could connect Palin with Ted Stevens that way. She denounced him, yet was still in his party.

          Wanna go from there?

I'm disappointed in the journalist here.  She didn't deny the  FINDING, she denies abuse of office.

and sorry but DUH how s this going to be a suprise?  and sorry again, do you think Rove hasn't sent anyone to dig up crap on Obama?  DUH.  Of course he has.  Obama hasn't cheated on wife, he's Christian, and he's not been perfect in his career of votes but not a single congressperson or Senator has been.  We could dig up "wrong" votes on each and every one of them (McCain included.) But Rove couldn't find much so he had people make it up.

Obama has said that he sat on a board with Ayers,  McCainsays it's Obama's lies about people, what lie?  He says he knew him.  Let the subject go.  Guilt by association can be pulled on everyone.  NO one escaped having a classmate who ended up in jail.  Just sitting in a taxi will tie you with about a dozen questionable people, and forget sitting on  bus.  We won't even talk about the family relatives.  Guilt by association is about the biggest joke around.  Guilt by association is the LAST thing Palin should be going after because she's married to a (former) member of a party that wans to secede from the U.S.  That kind of means if Alaska weren't part of the U.S. then she couldn't be part of the U.S. government.

Tvine:  I can understand your questions on this.  and it is indeed true that he had allegations against him prior to being made Trooper.  So the NEXT question in your mind should be: WHY DID PALIN RECOMMEND that he be made a STATE TROOPER?  Do you think she would have recommended him if he hadn't been married to her sister?  And as SOON as he divorced her sister, NOT when he tasered the step son, she asked for his dismissal.

It is unfortunate that Ms. Palin could not keep her personal feelings out of it.  You can fire anyone since most employment nowadays is considered "at will" employment, meaning that the people involved (in this case, the government and the employee) can terminate the working relationship with or without reason, at any time.  However, this doesn't quite apply to government jobs.  Why do you think so many incompetents remain at positions for 20+ years?  They've grown accustomed to their own mediocrity, and prefer to do nothing about it than risk a lawsuit.

As such, my hope for Ms. Palin is that she did have good cause to fire the former BIL, because, otherwise, she and the government of Alaska are about to face an ugly lawsuit for unlawful termination.  And either way, that's a distraction that as a political candidate, she doesn't need.

Then again, who doesn't enjoy a good political scandal now and again?

"Any news is good news" for publicity?  Not.

Abuse of Power, real issue, Congress passing that 700 Billion USD Bailout (Bailout, Term used to get someone out of Prison).  63% said NO BAILOUT before the DC Congressional Servers Crashed.  Figure was above 80% after DC Servers back online, before the Bill was made Law.  That is an ABUSE OF POWER!!!!!!

Help the "Main Street" with the Bailout, bs, these are the people this Bailout helps.

                  For the Palin Defenders

If she had tried to have him fired before the divorce then Abuse Of Power might not have been an issue. It may have been looked upon as up holding the Public Trust. Why wait?

By waiting she accepted any wrong doing while he was married to her sister. Now that there getting a divorce he becomes the bad guy? Kinda fishy don't you think. As for the Safety dude getting fired..oh well. She can replace a cabinet member but why wait until after he refuse to fire the guy? If he was already in trouble he should have been gone from the start. He wasn't a problem until later for some strange reason.

Can you see why the Ethics committee would question it now? For those that don't I'll give an example: CEO's girl friend stops by for lunch twice a week. She is friendly with the CEO's secretary that's 10 years younger. Girl friend becomes CEO's wife. Young secretary loses job 1 month later even though she has done nothing wrong. Now why due you think she got fired?

The problem is that it was Todd using her office doing most of the work to get the trooper fired.  Todd was not vetted.  I believe if this the way they function Todd's background should be brought to the surface.  If you are going to play the hide and snipe game Sarah is playing where she accuses Obama of everything then hides from the press so she doesn't look like a fool, she has opened the door.

No Biased opinions  here. Want to see a  crooked party?  Easy... LOOK AT Washington. There isn't a single politician who is not a liar.  Now for this report. Palin pissed off a lot of Republicanelected idiots becouse she wouldn't play the game the way they told her too. But they have no ax to grind as they say.  I have no doubt that she is guilty in that either she did allow her husband and or was directly involved in pressuring the commissioner into firing the a state trooper.  The fact that they, in the report state that they are NOT seeking a criminal investigation, and that they are NOT sanctioning Palin should tell you something. The report is 263 pages long READ IT. There are some problems and contradictions in it.

I am wondering why Obama and his ilk are not calling for an investigation into Barney Frank Chris Dodd and the other reps who in January of this year said every thing was rosy at Fanny and Freddy.   I guess they just made a mistake in judgment. Get flippin real

You people are quick to jump on the hate bandwagon against a person who only screwed one guy's career. While letting a bunch of Democrats off the hook for screwing the entire country and for that matter, the world.  Talk about Hypocrisy.  I think you had better wake up AMERICA and realize that you mean nothing to Obama, or McCain or any other crooked politician in Washington or your home state. Get a grip and get a clue. YOU ARE THE SHEEP and your getting fleeced.

Turbull you DO understand that Palin isn't running for president right?  Or are you like Palin and forgetting that?  Vote for Sarah?????

and well, the reason Biden isn't being dug up on, is because Biden isn't asking people to judge McCain by his associations, and Biden isn't having people call McCain a terrorist and Biden isn't having people call McCain a treasonist.  Nor is Biden out there telling people the B.S. of "his son fighting in Iraq so they can have free speech."  Because I'm not stupid enough, nor are most Americans to believe that Iraquis ever SUPPRESSED free speech in the U.S.  BUSH on the other hand has, and so did the GOP CONVENTION.  Her son is over there fighting for Cheney's retirement fund.

Media tends to somehow reverse the challenges upon a candidate.  They have most  CERTAINLY called Obama out for his ad on McCain (who by the way CLAIMED CREDIT FOR IT -stupid) who says we should buy out bad mortgages and Obama voted for the same bill. But Palin has been charging "ethics" on Obama ad verbally linking him with a "terrorist" because the fact is, the guy was never charged.  So she got nailed by the media.  ouch.  Make sure your own house is clean before you publicly denounce another person's house.  If you're squeaky clean, well then it will come out fine right?  Because if the Panel had found that she DIDN'T abuse her power, well (honestly that would have been ugly too, cuz it was a panel of mostly republicans so she wasn't going to get out of that easily) she could have stood PROUDLY but DUH don't throw rocks when you live in a glass house!

True American-501215 LOOK AT Washington. There isn't a single politician who is not a liar.

Hey, True American-50215, don't confuse anyone with the facts.  It does not matter who is President and Vice President they will be bought out again by these guys.

Delaware: Freddie Mac, Fanny Mae, Bank of America, Wilmington Trust, First USA / Bank One / JPMorgan Chase, AIG, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Barclays plc, GM, Chrysler, Wachovia, ExxonMobil, Chevron, ISDA, and those States with Corporations Incorporated at Delaware.

Especially, ISDA. The People that brought you:  the 60 to 100 Trillion USD (it is not 700 Billion USD US Economic Crisis) Global Economic Crisis.  These people will be back for more just like GM, Ford, Chysler, September 2008, 25 Billion, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, to milk the cash cow.  updated add: AIG, Billions USD.  The 60 to 100 Trillion USD does not include the usary interest protected by the Delaware Court of Chancery.

Also you think your "popular" vote means something?  You are sadly mistaken.  Example: President Bush and Florida chit thing.  The Electorial College has already sold out their votes.  That is why I am going to tear up this absentee ballot, I know I am and have been literally fighting for the right to vote, but I am not stupid enough to really think (believe bs) that a "popular" vote means squat based on recent History.

Who did the Majority of Electorial Colleges already sell out their souls to?  The person that claims to have bailed out NY, NJ, CT, DE, PA, NC, MI, FL, IL, and other States with Corporations incorporated at Delaware.  Soon the Electorial Colleges will declare the President and Vice President no matter who you vote for.  Look it up for yourself if you do really believe what you say is true.  Pull out your heart medicine, or high blood pressure medicine, maybe drugs, so that when you find out the truth, you will need them.

from the above look at their references, sources, footnotes, then look them up and read them, I did this pre election for the nonbiased facts.

Personally, I don't care.  I am going to retire soon if they let me, and go to Mexico.  That is what I can afford, they also cannot keep recalling me over and over again with back to back deployments.  Also Mexico has enough oil so if we are pulled out of Iraq and China gets all the oil from the Iraqis Northern and Southern Oil Fields (23%-51% US Daily Oil).  I will be driving and you'll be walking ("Money talks, bs walks").  Heh heh.  And you thought that the fence between US and Mexico was to keep the illegals out.

If all your "sources" are Wiki sources, may I suggest you get real and suggest people search the Library of Congress--at least there the books and sources are brick and mortar--you know, stuff you can touch and corroborate.  I wouldn't trust Wikipedia to give me a good recipe for a martini--let alone verify facts/controversies about/surrounding political candidates.

Gosh, I am so shocked and so surprised.  Who, in their right mind, would have ever guessed this super cognizant, free-thinking Einstein, politically conscious and correct, high IQ'ed beauty queen, so full of grace, dignity and sophistication, of abuse of power?  How many copters and airplanes does she own?

If she is wrought with worry, her body is being consumed with witches, why would she be conscious of ethics, American values and the quality of her character.  As abuse of power is most reflective of the individual's ethical character and their perceptions of right versus wrong, and she receives witch exorcisms, the possiblities are utterly endless!

Perhaps, she is the second coming of Hitler, all wrapped and packed as a lowlife, cheap, trashy, lo-intellect person who best represents dark, damp caves, witch- cisms, slaughtering the strands in the web of all life, then beating her cave woman's chest, butchering her Creators creations, the little dictator in the brown shirt, who, supposedly, stole America's collective hearts.  And, so did Hitler.  The Germans loved Hitler!

Give this witch phobic an inch, and she will steal America while everyone is dozing.  Heil, White Trash and human, brainwashed garbage.

Palin is simple hockey mom - I will give her that. That siad she does not have the intellect or experience to run the country should something happen to McCain. All she can do is spout  what is given to her - when she has to answer an unscripted question she is lost. Running the country in this day and age is complicated and full of unscripted moments. She is clearly just not up to the task.

                                White Trash,

You must be one unhappy person, I haven't seen this much venom from one person in a long time.  It sure makes me proud that I changed parties because it is people like you that have made a bad name for the Democratic Party.  To have so much hate for someone who has at least had some accomplishments in their lifetime, just shows that you haven't.

If you don't agree with her is one thing but you have crossed the line.  It must be that you are jealous of the fact that running for Vice President, she still has accomplished more and has more experience than Obama who is running for the President.

                                This is my personal opinion.

The saying comes to mind, "The winner writes History".  Have you ever been to Germany?

Do you know why, "The Germans loved Hitler!".  Nope.

Imagine you are living in a situation like depicted in "Soylent Green" or The Great Depression, like what is soon coming to a Country in your neighborhood (USA).  And some jerk gets you out of it, creating work, ending massive starvation, by building the Autobahns (Roads), Bahns Systems (Train Systems), providing universal health care, increasing the common wealth and the overall wealth of the country.

If you are unemployed, starving (not just hungry), homeless, freezing to death during the winters, wearing rags for shoes, what would you think about your previous leader that got you into the mess and about the successor that got you out of the mess.

The biggest problem was with increased Power comes increased Responsibility, something eveyone seems to have forgotten.  He forgot about that and got corrupted by Krupp.  The Germans (current) know this and therefore: "The Germans loved Hitler!".  Documented in the book "Arms of Krupp" (how they created/started WWI and WWII to their benefit). Who do you think benefited by the Holocost, seizure of Jewish Property and the exterminations? Just like the seizure of all of southern California from the Americans of Japanese Ancestory. The term used now is Corporations.

Stupid thing about the Germans and the other Europeans is that you would think that they would learn from their mistakes? No, do we, no.

I's killing me that the media and GOP are basically sweeping this under the rug, and going on like nothing happened. If this happened to Obama, their spinsters would be raging about it. It was also mentioned that the timing of the report, late Friday night, was to help this story die quickly.  I hope the "elite" or conservate Repubs who were against Palin read the report and make some noise about this. They must be kicking McCain in the teeth for not vetting her properly.

Again, MSNBC shows its wicked nature by repeating this incredibly biased, slanderous type of this “piece” of information, which was thrown to the “tolerant” community of Obama-nation, present here, at the Newswine. There was one saying among people in the Soviet Union “There is no truth in the News”, speaking about information presented to the public by Soviet government-controlled newspapers. Controlled by democratic liberal elite “independent” MSNBC serves Obama secret ambitions so faithfully, that it became too evident and obviously unsuitable to the reality. Shame on American media! Called to serve the truth, they chose to be the “watch-to-rip-the truth” dogs!

P.S. With respect to your feelings and choise, Mark, I woulg make a call Biden/Palin 08, but considering the sad reality of dirty American politics, let me finish with

Mark - you keep bringing up the tasering thingy and say would someone tell me why this was not a firing offense.  I have RESPONDED TO YOU BEFORE which you seem to ignore.

The state troopers have very sophisticated pieces of equipment - the gun was set at the TEST LEVEL - you know, like opening up a trick pack of gum which shocks you, or that trick book that shocks you... totally safe and sold as gags in all gag shops...

it was only a mild shock and not dangerous at all...  GET REAL AND STOP LYING ABOUT THE TASERING event - it has been TOTALLY blown out of proportion... nobody deserves to be fired over a little event like that...  the durn thing even has a test cycle so users can test its working on themselves for heavans sake...

If any one of these outraged Repubs had been reading and keeping up with this story they would know that the reason Monegan refused to fire Wooten was because an investigation into all the allegations had been conducted, and he was admonished, but not fired.  If he HAD fired Wooten, it would have been without cause, and probably would have resulted in a lawsuit.  Palin is guilty of an Ethics Violation, which is a misdemor under Alaskan law.  We have to presume that, being the Gov., she was aware of the law, but chose to go around it by getting her husband and staffers to do her dirty work for her.  She got caught.  Simple as that.  Wooten may be a real piece of work, but firing him without cause was not allowable.  Apparently the  stepson asked to be tasered so he could see what it felt like, and the voltage was on low.  Stupid thing to do, but not as malicious as it is being made out to be.

old guru, i read the entire report and Todd And Sarah Palin acted as they were instructed by the official being interviewed in the case. But she was not found guilty of abuse of power since even this article and the report states if she were to be tried on that charge, it would have to be done in front of the personel board where she rightly stated this should have been in the first place. The investigater, Mr. Branchflower, was hired as an investigator to determine whether there is sufficient information to press charges. Not being able to actually declare her guilty, his report shows that any investigation to come from this should be tried in front of the personel board. And Monegan's firing was not , as he clearly states, solely based on not firing Wooten. It is more accurate that it was never actually stated this was even one of the reaons for his firing, just that the witness felt this way about it. So if you are following this investigation through MSNBC then they must have been feeding you bad information all the way through.

Tasering wasn't okay.  Plain and simple.  The PROBLEM was that there was no police report of the incident when it happened.  The family COVERED IT UP because the guy was married to sis.

Problem number ONE was that he already had a record before he was promoted to Trooper.  WHO WROTE THE LETTER OF RECOMMENDATION THAT GOT HIM PROMOTED???? PALIN did, of course, AFTER the guy married her sister.  And she went on the man hunt AFTER he divorced her sister.  The judge ORDERED the Palins to leave the brother alone and to stop smearing him in public.

NOW that opens a whole NEW can of worms for the Palins, because the thing has become NATIONAL and if the ex brother in law can tie the national news with Sarah or Todd, well, he's going to sue their butts off and win.

THAT'S why the tasering incident was MESSED UP.  If yo uwant to hide it, well dummy you for hiding it, but the law does not let you make charges that pass a statute of limitations NOR does it let you suddenly come up with charges during an ugly divorce.

PALIN screwed up in EVERY way with this one.  She used her office as governor to get a relative with a record HIRED as trooper and then she used her office (or allowed a non-government official to stand as her officer) to try and get the man FIRED as trooper.

                                            Did ya know all that?

Can anyone say the word "smear"?  Those of you who take this seriously need to look at your candidate a little more closely too.  And, no matter what McCain says, Obama is no gentleman - I'm still not convinced he's a US citizen.

I am an Alaskan resident, and yes, I did read the report.  The only smear campaign that has taken place with respect to this investigation has been the incessant attempt by the McCain campaign to paint it as partisan.  Obama did not send any lawyers up to AK, only McCain did.  People, I live here.  DO NOT LET THIS REPORT GO UNNOTICED!  It clearly shows that Palin lacks the ethical responsibility to be in the White House.  Haven't we had enough of this already?  Now, you're wanting to place someone there, whom it has become apparent has ethical issues PRIOR to the country giving her the power over all of us, not just Alaska.  Is this country nuts?  I just hope that this issue does not die within the State.  I'm going to do whatever I can to see that it does not.

The US "community organizer" was comfortably placed in a boards of a couple of organization, which were led by the domestically grown terrorist (I suspect, Marxist) Bill, whatever his last name is. Do you know what those guys are capable of? They kill people for their cursed ideas! Men and women! They don’t let those killed men and women to live their lives!

Several thousands of Americans traveled to the Soviet Union in 1920’s to pursue their dreams of happiness in “the first country of workers and peasants”! You know, what was next? They were brutally murdered in 30’s! All of them! And FDR’s Department of State didn’t say a word in order not to irritate “Comrade” Stalin! That’s what happens, when terrorists become rulers! Don’t vote for OBAMA, guys!

BB& Gene, I suppose you folks are knocking science's efforts to stabilize Earth's biodiversity, the strands in the web of all life, all the reasons you dudes are breathing oxygen and are alive and kickin.  I guess you dudes were referring to the living components and life-gifting organs of the physical, life-supporting body of Earth.

Look at it this way.  You are alive and breathing because of your heart, lungs, leukocyctes and arteries.  Earth's biodiversity works collectively altogether to make Earth a living vessel, your only home, right now.  {Please note:  when I referred to the human body's life-support team in your case is, I left out brain.]  Again, this is science, the science of the ecology of Earth, the ECO-nomics of all life, including dudes.

And, some dudes actually enjoy consuming crabs and shrimps, and if they go extinct, there goes some of the goods that fuel the finances of mankind and Earth, less resources, less foods, medicine, oxygen, the balanced gases in the atmosphere, a stable, regulated climate, fresh water, the carbon and nitrogen cycles [life itself] and freedom from global disease pandemics capable of wiping out the majority of mankind.

Getit.  If the crabs and shrimp are community team members of their riverine or marine ecosystems, they are a strand in the web of all life, and the economies of seafood restaurants so dudes like you, won't go hungry.  Food for the body, and food for the emaciated brains.  Heay, research Easter Island, dudes.

The weird thing is  her denial. Really, like so whatever the Republican dominated legislature's report said, take my (Pailin's) word for it, I'm innocent.  I believe she should just acknowledge at least the possibility that, maybe, she used her office and allowed her husband to do the same, for vindictive reasons - then apologize.

If you want a copy of Michelle's thesis all you have to do is order it.  It is available.  It will take 2-3 weeks delivery as with every other thesis.  Nothing special with that.

Also, Barack was fully vetted.  His family has been investigated to the 10th power.  To McCain's dismay, he really hasn't lived a life full of drama.  McCain, on the other hand lives in a glass house and should really stop throwing stones as they seem to always hit is house instead.  Wait...what's that?  It's another broken window.  Looks like his house of glass is falling down.

I hope he buys back his soul soon.

                                                        A thesis is this:

                                                      • It should be contestable, proposing an arguable point with which people could reasonably disagree. A strong thesis is provocative; it takes a stand and justifies the discussion you will present.
                                                      • It tackles a subject that could be adequately covered in the format of the project assigned.
                                                      • It is specific and focused
                                                      • It clearly asserts your own conclusion based on evidence
                                                      • It provides the reader with a map to guide him/her through your work.
                                                      • It anticipates and refutes the counter-arguments
                                                      • It avoids vague language (like "it seems").
                                                      • It avoids the first person. ("I believe," "In my opinion")
                                                      • It should pass the So what? or Who cares? test (Would your most honest friend ask why he should care or respond with "but everyone knows that"?) For instance, "people should avoid driving under the influence of alcohol," would be unlikely to evoke any opposition.

If Christians have a spine to defend themselves you deny them, Mr. Stevens? You prefer “Christians” who vote to kill babies who survived abortions, like Obama did? This guy is monstrous! Yet you don’t feel ashamed to vote for him, with him?

Palin rejects false, politically biased report, and does it decisively, with all the rights given to her both from above and here, on sinful earth! Yet you chose to stand in one line with other slanderers, who continue to repeat this media’s shameful slanderous product. It skillfully presents not the whole information, but, just a little piece of it, a negative one, in order to damage the reputation of a person who loves this country so unquestionably and faithfully!

Well, if we are talking here as Christians, then I dare to say ANATHEMA! Amen!

Yolanda, Obama was not fully "vetted" as you say. His answer to the Bill Ayers question originally was A guy who lives in my neighborhood. Therea are more examples that I could list off but they will fall on deaf ears. Obama skirts qustions again and again when it comes to his political start and who his supporters are. The record speaks for itself. McCain and Palin are no better.

NOTA is being written in when I enter the ballot box.  The Dems and Repubs are too blinded by party partisenship to know better as they are so brainwashed to see any other way.  Just read a few of these blogs here on NV.  Barely a neglegible thought outside the typical talking point from both sides and not much better than flat out hate speech towards each other.  Is it any wonder America is dissappearing before our eyes?

No matter who wins this election, the outcome will be the same...buisness as usual.  Nothing will change except maybe the increase in your taxes regardless.  CNN had a show on earlier this afternoon that stated that calls to the Senate and Congress where 50-1 against a bailout...they passed it anyway knowing full well that thier 'constituients are too afraid to make any real 'change' outside thier comfort zone.

Why was the state employed secretary setting up meetings with state officials and todd? I didn't know he was elected for anything.

You cannot hold office in Alaska with a misdemeanor on your record. As to the matter of Todd Palin  he is covered as is the rest of her family under this law of ethics. It specifically states that her or any member of her family are subject to this law. Actually the report has enough to convict her easily in a court of law. When you refuse to testify you also give up the right to defend yourself.

                                                                              Roger,

I thank you for your important clarification. I find that I do share your thoughts, the most part of your message, especially in respect of the Wall Street now famous “ethics”. However, from one of your messages here I knew that you are a US Marine, you are a soldier, the one whose responsibility is or was to fight for the right cause. I was a military veteran myself, but of the Soviet Army. Let me share with you this, in my humble opinion, quite ethical dilemma. If to talk directly, as man to man – we know we are to protect the weaker ones. Now, If that trooper, the cop, unfortunately, the dirty one, was intimidating those families himself, for quite a period of time, and was able to keep his job, whose ethical code was abused there? How about his superiors also?

Todd Palin was involved, people say… Well, how about you, Roger? Would you not choose to be “involved”, if, God forbid, your wife, your child, your neighbor, is being scared day by day, experiencing intimidations from “the guy with the gun”( old Russian saying)? I remember it wasn’t so easy for me to deal with some KGB tricks in my time.

Sarah Palin, probably, fired that commissioner with easy heart, I assume. There was a reason, however. And she did it, probably, knowing that she gained some more adversaries around, and some of those big boys will use it against her some day. Yet, she did it. Roger, I would do it too! Even knowing that, in order to preserve my political achievements, it’s safer to do it using somebody else’s hands, etc. But she did it herself, thus giving to all of us some lesson. There is true justice, not that known in the world current American written “ethical” codes, judicial tyranny, that benefits too many bad guys, O.J. Simpson’s, etc.

This ability to put herself at risk of failure makes Sarah Palin fit for the highest office.

Please, accept my best wishes to you and my respect, Roger.

Did he abuse any "ethics" by encouraging to cooperate with Muslim radicals? As the result of that Odinga's cooperation some 800 churches were burnt to the ground... Is this Obama's "international" experience sufficient enough to implement Shariah's law in the US?

When has "ethics" been something other than a word politicians throw around, not actually practice? Politician and ethics are words that are actually complete opposites.

Hard to tell the difference when he is doing all of his own unapproved investigations, interviews, etc.  Scary that someone who is not in office has access to private records, including the info on state employees which is private, to protect the employees from harassment or injury should someone decide to get even. And his being allowed to sit in on governmental meetings is downright questionable. No surprise here, she has been found to have overstepped her boundary by her own party.  My daughter just went through a divorce however, I didn't hire someone to investigate and get even with her ex.  Just used voo doo dolls to get even.  LOL.  Maybe her ex should have a visit from the exorcist who exorcised the witchcraft from Palin. Don'tcha know.  Wink, Wink.

I know you want to ignore that and hold on to your fantasy regarding the Dog with Lipstick but you might want to give it up and face reality.

Not without full support of some of his superiors, I assume. The cop was harassing his former wife, the Pali’s family itself, he was threatening good people, abusing his little power as much as he wanted. Folks, I don’t know about you, but, I would abuse any power possible if someone would threaten my family and you, guys, would do the same! Yet, Sarah didn’t sue this scum, but let him be… Were we told everything about Alaska”s corruption? Hey, MSNBC!!!

I think that they the Republican part of the Investigation just do not want to hand over the election. We are only three weeks away you know. Plus if she does get elected (hope not) Mccain can them sweep it under the rug.

Remember the so called hunting accident by Cheney. Any fines or restitution NOPE. Let me or you do this accidentally and we might even face charges not just a fine. Did I mention he had no license to hunt that day. Crime < did he get convicted or fined NOPE

Same thing with Palin no accountability. But hey we wanted Clintons head for getting  some head  from Monica L. Maybe Palin and Cheney should go hunting in Alaska togehter. Wonder who would come back?

And by the way has anyone been listening to the actual candidates? The only one who can speak above a 6th grade level is Obama. Even obamas V.P. choice puts his foot in his mouth. Joe Biden is as lame as Mccain. So at least I am calling it as i see it. If we put this once great Nation into the hands of either side we are in for some hard times.

If we pick Mccain we get to hear Vietnam war stories for four years anybody up to that? Trust me after an hour the other night I was already tired of it. It seems Mccain only someone who was aP.O.W. or a petty officer has a clue since I qoute everything he learned was from one. Since he loved serving so much why not let him back in the service and send him on a personal mission to find Osama Bin Laden. Give hime a M16 and a 45 a bowie knife and let him play Rambo in Afghanistan. Not anti partriotic either bush cronies just freedom of speach while I still have it.

But at least if we go with Obama we the middle class will get some help out here in the real world. And let the Rich leave the country now. They can go with the jobs they sent to India and China. Leave the new economy here in the U.S. to us hungry inventive newcomers and we will rise again. Once the constitution and the bill of rights are back in place.

On the next part about a month back a Newsvine writer wrote that the price of gas would drop right at election time. He called it and if he's reading my post I say Right on the money for you. and your remarks about it tying the repubs. to Big Oil and Mccain being a Bush clone were also right on the money. Good call

I know you are brainwashed to follow these fools, but ask yourself this question and be honest if possible. IF Obama OR Biden were guilty of the same infractions by a committee of 10 DEms and 4 Repugs would you honestly say "How is this even an issue" ??? Liar !! Your a racist and you as a Repug will continue to twist things in an attempt to fool and manipulate the few followers you have left.

But since you want to play that race card, Obama is 50% Caucasian, 43% Arabic, 7% African.  Source, Genelogical Archieves, Kenya, Africa.  His ancestors were the Arabs that were paid by the Slave Traders to catch Africans for the Slave Trade.  And also responsible for the destruction of the advanced African civilizations, current ruins overgrown by the Jungles. After the Slave Trade was abolished his ancestors settled in Africa. Therefore, the Islamic names, Barack, Hussein, Obama, and not the Kenyan, African names.

Come over here to darfour, go over to Kenya and see for yourself.  Been there done that.  While you are at it, go to Ghana and see how tragic the Slave Trade was, especially the Gate of No Return. You think the Holocost was bad, this was worse.

Who knew that it would take death threats before McCain could see that strategy wasn't working, and it was an extremely dangerous road to lead us all down.  So, I actually give McCain some points on Friday for showing a backbone - reminded me of the "Real" McCain.  But, that's as far as that goes... It seems that everything that goes wrong in the McCain campaign is Obama's fault! McCain, you said "he is a decent man", and he is! When they say who fired the first shot in the SECOND CIVIL WAR, who's got the gun?

She and her husband pressured and also had her staff pressure to try and get this trooper removed. And they were blatant about it. I am sure we all agree that most times divorces can be wicked and emotional. But she and her husband are in leadership positions and must take the high road. Personally, I don't think they know what the high road means.

Does that sound fair and just?? Just wait if she gets into office. Will she take out a personal vendetta against the little boy who pushed her daughter on the bus, or the girl of the teenage mother who beat her daughter in cheerleading practice. Everyone knows she had a vendetta against this man and maybe he wasn't innocent but it still doesn't make the way it was handle right. Todd Palin has no business anywhere need confidential information. And to all the right wingers, this was being investigated BEFORE she was chosen as VP running mate and certainly has nothing to do with Obama.

As he was turning in his resignation to the Law School Professor, the professor said, "but I think you could change things."

Also maybe you do not know.  Lawyers as part of the job description are trained in Oration:  Debate, Arguement-Twisting the facts to fit the situation (example: criminal defense attorney, with attorney knowing client did the crime).

Obama puts ambition ahead of country!!!! DOUBLE DUH!!!! She must have been looking in the mirror when composing that one!!!! Take responsibility for your actons, Palin!!! These charges were brought up before she was selected for VP! She was found guilty of abusing her power as governor by a bipartisan board! Obama had nothing to do with it! Republicans high tailed it to Alaska to try to get the whole thing flushed down the toilet! Who put pressure on whom, here? It seems that everything that goes wrong in the McCain campaign is Obama's fault! McCain, you said "he is a decent man", and he is! When they say who fired the first shot in the SECOND CIVIL WAR, who's got the gun?

I would like to know her understanding of ethics, the US constitution, the separation of church and state, the separation of powers, her history of involvement with the Alaska Independence Party, her husband's involvement with the Alaska Independence Party, her use of state per diem system payments for evenings at her own home, her hobbies, intellectual pursuits, etc. I don't know who Sarah Palin really is. I don't know how truthful she has been about who she is palling around with. It appears that she may have put her own ambition first over the needs of the country. I don't know how she can uphold the constitution if she has never studied it or understood how it was designed to form a system of checks and balances. I am very concerned about why none of these questions were answered by John McCain before he selected this darling of the right wing and I wonder about his judgment and erratic behavior and why she is described by him as "my soul mate." I would like to know her academic achievements. I want to know why she is attacking Barack Obama for all of the things that she appears to be hiding in her own past. If I were a psychiatrist (I am), I would wonder about the primitive quality of this woman's psyche, as it appears her main line of attack is that of projection of all of her own inadequacies.

No other candidate or anyone in politics, for that matter, would be able to just ignore the report and continue on like nothing significant even happened.

Oh, can that interview not have McCain sitting by her side to run interference? I bet she would have to "get back to ya on that" with almost every question.

Just search YouTube, Sept 4, Obama and O'Reilly and I think you will find it.

Since he gave this interview on Fox, I would say your claim that he "want(s) only soft ball news organization(s)" to interview him is incorrect. Unless you consider Fox to be soft as well, then I apologize for my misunderstanding.

Also check out her involvement in the Mat Maid scandal. Watch her appointee Kopps resignation on youtube. She still has one ethics investigation ongoing. She fired the librarian, but had to rehire her when the town had a fit.  She is against earmarks unless she is the one getting them. Bridge to nowhere, was for it before she was against it but kept the money anyway, put the jet on ebay where it did not sell and when it did it did so as a loss to the state, let her chef go, not really just gave her a new title, is middle class joe six pack, NOT with 1.2 mil she isn't. She's all lies and does demand fierce loyalty at any and all costs. Will ruin those that don't do her bidding and throw people under the bus. She wants us to believe she does not know what goes on in her own administration (all on video) or she may have to be accountable and responsible for her actions or lack of them. She can't answer any questions intelligibly on any subject, just goes on rambling and babbling and then points the finger at her opponents and accuses them of all she is guilty of. What more do you need to know?

When they ask who fired the first shot in the SECOND CIVIL WAR, who's got the gun?

Every theft is a theft. Every abuse of power is an abuse of power. What began small with the Bush Administration grew larger and larger. Think about what Palin might do if she were in Cheney's position. She's proved that she knows how to get by with the most strigent abuse of power. That's why she would not testify. She knew what would be in the report. People who know what will be in a report befor it is released are the most devious and most harmful. Who knows what she might do once she has real power. That's an important answer for all to ask. As for Obama, where is the documented proof that he did anything other than sit on the same board that met once a year? Or the fact that both met once in the same home once? I respectfully challenge you to offer documented proof. Otherwise it's hearsay. A fairy tale.

                                                                                                                      1)  Ayers was a Vietnam war protester (look it up) and if not for him and people like him, McCain's butt might still be in a Vietnam POW camp.

                                                                                                                      2)  Who is the terrorist now?  With the McCain/Palin campaign saying Mr. Obama’s full name or asking just who is Mr. Obama?, they are inciting and manipulating people to react in a negative manner.  That's a fact!

McCain and Palin are both using tactics designed to instill fear in people at their rallies and in their commericals.

And ask yourself this ... we have people now who are protesting the Iraq war and if the McCain/Palin ticket does win and we are still in Iraq 3 or 4 years from now will you label those who protest now as terrorists?  We have an all volunteer army now... will McCain/Palin invoke the draft to continue fighting this war as we (our tax dollars) are paying HUGE sums of money to get people to enlist now.

Reality the US Military is controlled by the Politicians, when they fail we die, not them, we hate War!

Also, you see all those things around you called "plastic"?  Where do they come from? That funny thing called electricity? The stuff you don't see that you put into the gas tank? You voted indirectly for this f&^%ing War that I might die at.  Do us all a favor, come over here and get the f^*%ing oil yourself.

Most of us that have been around the block, know and when we get a chance to we're going to retire at Mexico.  "We the unwilling, are led by the unwise, for an ungrateful nation."
